12 months ago last September I started work as an editorial intern at CollegeHumor. The year since has been, without question, the happiest of my life.
Thank you to Sam Reich who first judged me decent enough to warrant an interview, thank you to Pat Cassels, Jake Hurwitz, Jeff Rubin and Streeter Seidell who decided my interview was decent enough to warrant an internship, and thank you to every one of you funny motherfuckers I’ve met since then. This office is like a dragon’s nest- full of fire and imagination, but also terrible danger! Minus the terrible danger.
If you told college-me that I’d be working at an online comedy factory after graduation, I would have called you a damned liar. Moving to New York, English degree in hand, I imagined my first real job would go something like this:
Owen: Please, no more!
Necromancer: Silence, wretch! Demons! More boiling tar for this wimpering flesh baby!
Owen: unintelligible screams
To sum up, my job is the exact opposite of a weird heavy metal sado-bondage fantasy. Thanks for everything, guys.
