Man, you should have seen the wacky face I made half a second later. It was the stuff of wacky legend. I am glad Suze and I ended up with identical expressions, though. We bookend this group photo pretty well.

Blackout - The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets

TDotHT is a band that rocks up some H.P. Lovecraft-style jams. I bought their 2007 album “The Shadow Out of Tim” today as a posthumous b-day gift to their dead muse, expecting a couple loose songs that were mostly fun lyrics and little else of substance.

Turns out they’re the real deal, legitimately rocking out on That Which Man Was Not Meant To Know. Colour (out of space) me surprised!

Predator’s Teenaged Son, a sketch written by me and Owen Parsons. I’m really digging Snark Rocket’s character designs - they managed to make a teenaged Predator totes adorable.

I voiced everything not human in this. Love how this turned out. Emo hair on a predator child is priceless.

Forgot to reblog this when it came out, but here’s a link to Red Dead Redemption Moral Code, the comic I drew for Dorkly last week based on a very funny idea from Streeter.

I’ve divided the rest of this post into two sections-

For comics nerds:

Some of you are probably familiar with Dresden Codak, and if not, let’s familiarize you: it is an online comic, it is superb, and it is mandatory reading for cool people. Better yet, its creator, Aaron Diaz, recently started up a brand new blog to discuss effective techniques in comics, and his musings are every bit as fun and enlightening as would be suggested by the skillz he routinely employs to pay his billz.

This Red Dead comic was my first attempt at some of the techniques Diaz talks about. It’s all kinds of tentative, but I’m really pleased with how it came out.

Get this: last week I asked to borrow Caldwell’s tape. HIS TAPE! And he just gave it to me! He was completely unaware that things were about to get a little crazy.

I decided to totally shut down one of his desk drawers (with his own tape, no less!!!). Now there’s a desk drawer he can’t use anymore! Caldwell was blown away when I showed him, he just stood there saying stuff like ”You’re wasting tape,” and “That’s not really my desk drawer.”

Not anymore, it’s not! Caldwell Tanner, you just got PRANK-O-BLASTED.
